Make traditional Gujarati pickle more easily with Gharnu Athanu Achar Masala, a ready Gujarati pickle spice blend traditionally known as Tikho Sambhar.
Prepared with split fenugreek seeds, split mustard seeds, red chilli powder, salt, asafoetida and sunflower oil, this masala gives you the core Gujarati pickle flavour without the need to measure and balance each spice separately. Our preparation method includes tempering the hing with hot oil before the final mixing, helping develop the characteristic aroma and flavour of traditional Gujarati achar masala.
Use approximately 250 g Achar Masala for 1 kg prepared fruit, such as raw mango.
Mix the masala thoroughly with the cleaned and cut fruit. Add or adjust other ingredients such as oil, salt, jaggery or other recipe-specific ingredients according to the type of pickle you are preparing and your personal taste.
This Gujarati Pickle Masala can be used for preparing different homemade pickles such as:
Split Fenugreek Seeds, Red Chilli Powder, Salt, Split Mustard Seeds, Sunflower Oil and Asafoetida.
The red chilli portion is prepared using a blend of Reshampatti and Kashmiri chilli, giving the masala a balance of heat and rich colour.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the pack tightly closed after opening to protect the masala from moisture and preserve its aroma and texture. The official product specification lists a 12-month shelf life when stored correctly.
